Otak, Inc. is seeking a Civil Project Engineer in Washington to apply design expertise across municipal roadways, bridges, trails, and site infrastructures for public and private clients.

You’ll take projects from concept through construction documentation and support business development while mentoring junior staff. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, 5–10 years of progressive civil experience, and strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or in progress.
• 5–10 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Proven experience coordinating with public agencies (cities, counties, transit agencies).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads or similar tools.
• Strong technical background in roadway/transit and site civil infrastructure design.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical design and delivery of transportation and transit projects with public agencies.
• Lead site infrastructure design for municipal, state, federal, and private clients.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet goals.
• Apply knowledge of AASHTO, ADA, MUTCD, and WSDOT standards for compliance and quality.
• Mentor junior staff and promote collaboration and growth.
• Support project management activities and client coordination with a path toward PM role.
• Assist in preparing proposals and developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Contribute to business development through strong client relationships.
• Provide construction-phase support including submittals, RFIs, and site visits.
