Job summary

Otak is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to apply design expertise across municipal roadways, trails, bridges, site infrastructure, and utilities for public and private clients. You’ll take projects from concept through construction documents and construction, leading complex design efforts and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 5–10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with emphasis on transportation and site infrastructure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the technical design and delivery of transportation and transit projects with public agencies.
• Lead and coordinate site infrastructure design for municipal, state, federal, and private clients.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet client goals and contracts.
• Apply knowledge of AASHTO, ADA, MUTCD, and WSDOT standards for regulatory compliance and design quality.
• Mentor junior staff and promote collaboration and growth.
• Support project management activities including progress tracking and client coordination toward a Project Manager path.
• Assist in proposals and developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Contribute to business development through strong client relationships.
• Provide construction-phase support including submittals, RFIs, and site visits.
