Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to lead design efforts for civil site projects from Anaheim, CA, with alternative offices in Ontario or Pasadena, CA. You will collaborate with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering analyses, designs, permit applications, and site drainage solutions that support client outcomes.

You will work closely with senior staff on a wide range of projects, help train and mentor team members, and support budgeting, scheduling, and project goals.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• PE license required.
• 2+ years of civil engineering/construction experience.
• Proficiency in civil design techniques and industry software.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to mentor less experienced staff.
• Ability to lead teams using standard civil engineering software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to adapt to new challenges.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for civil site projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and similar project types.
• Develop designs, specifications, and calculations using code-compliant standards and IMEG procedures.
• Oversee permit applications in coordination with the team, client, and reviewing jurisdictions.
• Perform surface and watershed modeling, storm and sanitary sewer design.
• Support bidding and construction administration phases.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs and maintain relationships.
• Assist in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions, client instructions, project progress, and fee expenditure.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical solutions with senior staff.
• Apply state/local design criteria and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
