Job summary
City of Indianapolis is seeking a qualified engineer to assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the design of federally funded transportation, environmental, traffic, and stormwater projects across Marion County. You will help manage Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, ensuring high-quality plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
The role requires a PE license in Indiana, 5+ years in civil engineering, and strong communication and technical writing skills.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana.
- 5+ years in Civil Engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of City, State, and FHWA policies for design/construction.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing design of federal multi-modal, transportation, structural, and stormwater projects.
- Serve as project manager for federally funded projects and supervise staff on engineering plans and cost estimates.
- Perform QA/QC of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Participate in and support public meetings as needed.
- Ensure design activity is on schedule and within budget; comply with statutes and contract requirements.
