Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking a Civil Preconstruction Estimator to lead our Civil Preconstruction Department. You will manage, and prepare, competitive cost estimates for civil projects and influence bid decisions.

Analyze drawings, solicit subcontractor quotes, and present final estimates to senior management. Proficiency with Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, AGTEK, and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil construction industry.
• Proven track record of estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities etc).
• Proficient in necessary software is preferred (Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, AGTEK, Excel).
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Eye for Detail is absolutely essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate the estimating & bid processes for our civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
