Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Field Engineer to lead field activities for a large industrial project in Clay, NY. You will coordinate earthworks, foundations, and concrete work, ensuring adherence to drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include mentoring field engineers, applying Advanced Work Packaging, and ensuring readiness of labor, permits, and equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree and typically 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced Work Packaging principles and field engineering processes.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines to support safe, efficient execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil field engineering activities for assigned construction areas, planning and coordinating workface execution.
• Provide day-to-day technical direction and mentoring to civil field engineers.
• Apply Advanced Work Packaging to guide work packages, sequences, and field planning.
• Coordinate labor, drawings, permits, inspections, and equipment readiness before work begins.
• Review drawings, specs, vendor info, and project requirements for constructability and RFIs.
• Verify layouts, elevations, quantities, materials, and installed work for compliance.
• Support short-interval planning, look-ahead schedules, and turnover documentation.
• Monitor field execution for document control and updates when drawings change.
• Identify safety, quality, schedule, and constructability risks and escalate as needed.
• Promote Zero Accident Philosophy and continuous improvement.
• Provide input to maintain project procedures and quality requirements.
