Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Structural Field Engineer to lead technical support for field supervision in construction and installation across all structural disciplines.

The role reports to the Lead Structural Field Engineer and focuses on coordinating field activities, reviewing designs, and ensuring compliance with specs and codes while facilitating issue resolution with designers and fabricators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5–8 years of civil/structural experience.
• Knowledge of the AISC manual and standards.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; experience guiding teams.
• Experience managing technical services subcontracts is desirable.
• Able to walk construction sites in extreme heat/cold and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and resolve all structural execution issues in the yard and field.
• Assist Advanced Work Packaging team with work package development.
• Perform field material takeoffs from design drawings.
• Prepare field material requisitions and track delivery status.
• Assist in developing inspection and test plans and document inspections.
• Review quality docs for accuracy per approved plans.
• Ensure installations meet design and specification requirements.
• Support Superintendents with manpower and equipment planning.
• Document field changes and non-conformances; maintain records.
• Lead final area walk-downs, punch lists, and turnover of structures.
