Job Title: Civil Engineering Project Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our client’s civil and architectural engineering firm, which specializes in sustainable construction methods. The successful candidate will design, plan, and supervise land development projects across various sectors, including retail, restaurant, multi-family, commercial/industrial, mixed-use, site planning, utility coordination, fuel centers, and more. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina.
Job Requirements:
- Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for the civil engineering practice, identifying new market opportunities and expanding service offerings.
- Lead business development efforts, build strong client relationships, prepare proposals, and secure new contracts.
- Serve as a technical expert and mentor, ensuring project execution meets industry standards and quality expectations.
- Manage financial aspects including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to improve operational efficiency.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of civil engineers and support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee project management processes to ensure timely, within-budget, and high-quality project delivery, including managing complex projects directly if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Consult with stakeholders and management regarding engineering requirements for construction, modifications, and repairs.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and proposals for new projects.
- Design and develop site/civil projects including grading, roadway, stormwater management, sewer, water, and erosion control systems.
- Utilize design software and drawing tools to produce accurate designs and communicate project details effectively.
- Assess structural integrity of foundations, concrete, asphalt, and steel through testing and analysis.
- Define design specifications based on load, material stress, water flow, and other parameters.
- Plan projects using relevant data such as drawings, surveys, maps, and geologic/topographical information.
- Prepare reports including environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
- Estimate project costs including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and surveyors to ensure project progress and accuracy.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain structures upon project completion.
- Manage all calculations, reports, and supporting documentation related to projects.
