Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Site Development Section within the Office of Watershed Protection. You will oversee professional/technical projects, including design review, standards enforcement, surveying, inspections, and other components of engineering programs in Atlanta's city limits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in engineering, water resources management, environmental policy, land use planning, hydrology, or a closely related technical area.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering and/or a related field (preferred).
• Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be determined under prescribed guidelines.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer license is highly desirable; GSWWC Level II Certification must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Review all aspects of engineer drawings, studies, hydrology reports, etc.
• Provide written comments pertaining to permitting.
• Route plans through the permitting process and track status in software.
• Provide guidance to applicants on required standards for permitting matters.
• Enforce City of Atlanta design, erosion control, and stormwater management standards.
• Coordinate with other agencies as necessary (e.g., Georgia DNR).
• Check tax records as necessary concerning sewer connections to City Wastewater system.
