Job summary

The City of Atlanta seeks a seasoned Site Development Manager to oversee professional engineering projects, including design reviews, permits, and compliance with water quality and stormwater standards. You will supervise engineers and staff, coordinate with agencies, and manage project workflow from plan submission to approval.

The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in civil engineering, hydrology, and regulatory compliance, and a track record in public-sector environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in engineering, water resources management, environmental policy, land use planning, hydrology, or related technical area.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering and/or related field (preferred).
• Equivalent training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review all aspects of engineer drawings, studies, hydrology reports, etc.
• Provide written comments pertaining to permitting.
• Route plans through the permitting process and track status in project software.
• Ensure compliance with City of Atlanta design standards and erosion control requirements.
• Coordinate with agencies and internal departments as needed.
• Oversee and supervise up to twenty staff including engineers and technical personnel.
