Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Denver, CO to assist lead engineers with design tasks, data entry, documentation and presentations. You will work on Transmission & Distribution projects and other markets, applying standard engineering techniques and learning through real project work.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, preferably ABET accredited, with strong communication, problem solving and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
