Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern to support Transmission & Distribution projects by performing standard engineering tasks, updating designs, and assisting lead engineers. The role offers exposure to multiple market segments and hands-on learning in a collaborative team environment.

The internship emphasizes data analysis, documentation, and presentations, with a focus on professional development and campus/community involvement. 5-hr to full-time seasonal options may apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
