Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Environmental Services market. You will assist with standard engineering tasks, design updates, data collection, and project support under supervision.

You will engage with lead engineers, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help prepare presentations. A strong academic record, internships, and active campus involvement are preferred as you develop skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other volunteer activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to grow within the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks requiring standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and design updates.
• Support environmental services market projects across various clients.
• Collect and analyze data for continuous improvement efforts.
