Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc in Bismarck, ND is seeking Civil Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience in construction materials testing and field observations.

You will work with engineers and technicians on real projects, learning procedures such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP testing, sand cone density, field concrete testing, and cylinder testing, in a 100% employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
