Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc. in Mankato, Minnesota is seeking Civil Engineering interns for Summer 2027. You will work with engineers on construction materials testing, field observations, and real-world projects across geotechnical and environmental disciplines.

The internship provides mentorship, cross-disciplinary exposure, and hands-on learning in testing procedures and reporting, with field and office work in a dynamic, employee-owned company environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment (gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field/concrete testing).
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, reinforcing steel).
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at worksites.
