Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking highly motivated Civil Engineering Interns for our Summer 2027 program out of our Baton Rouge, LA Office. This is a paid full-time internship, June through August 2027 with potential to transition into a Full-Time role after graduation.

The successful candidate will work under Project Managers and teams of engineers, scientists, and technologists, performing design tasks and gaining field experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, CAD, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow.
• Applicants for this intern role must possess a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineer design tasks including sheet setup, drafting, and proposal development.
• Support site layout and grading, utility design, cost estimates, bridge and highway design.
• Assist in the preparation of civil construction drawings.
• Use AUTOCAD, Civil-3D, HydroCAD, Microstation, PondPack, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
• Work will be in the field working with a construction inspector.
• Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
