Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks Civil Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 in our Raleigh, NC office. This paid full-time internship runs June through August 2027, with potential to become a full-time hire after graduation.

The selected candidates will work under Project Managers and Team Leaders, partnering with engineers, scientists, and technologists to gain hands-on experience in civil design and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Junior or senior pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineer design tasks including sheet setup, drafting, and proposal development.
• Support site layout and grading, utility design, cost estimates, bridge and highway design.
• Assist in the preparation of civil construction drawings.
• Use AUTOCAD, Civil-3D, HydroCAD, Microstation, PondPack, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
• Fully in-person position.
• May include field work and occasional driving as part of project responsibilities.
