Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated seeks a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Leesburg, VA office. The intern will work on all phases of civil/municipal engineering, including grading and roadway design, stormwater, water/sewer systems, and erosion control.

The program offers hands-on project experience, technical skill development, and exposure to projects similar to those handled by full-time staff. Workshops and networking events accompany a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's in Civil Engineering.
• Prior internship experience preferred.
• Knowledge of site/civil engineering practices including grading and roadway design.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency using CAD and Microsoft Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on grading design, roadway design, stormwater management, and water and sanitary sewer design.
• Assist with permitting and code research, write specifications, and prepare permit applications.
