Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Site/Civil department in our Fairfax, VA office to work on projects for clients in commercial and government sectors. Local candidates preferred; no housing stipend will be provided.

During the internship, you will assist with site/civil development, grading and roadway design, and preparation of calculations and reports. You will work on design teams to develop construction documents and may help with permitting and

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering required.
Previous internship experience preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office is required.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design.
Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
May also conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
