Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern in Greenville, SC. The role involves applying standard engineering techniques to design and update systems, supporting lead engineers, and assisting with diverse project duties across market segments.

Qualified candidates pursue a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (ABET preferred), show solid communication and analytical skills, and demonstrate leadership and eagerness to learn.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program is required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred for the program.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience is preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community, or other volunteer activities is encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities are important.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is expected.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and a self-motivated approach are valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
