Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Minneapolis, MN to support standard engineering tasks, refine designs, and assist lead engineers on diverse projects across Aviation & Federal and Transmission & Distribution markets.

You will gain hands-on experience applying engineering techniques, communicating effectively, and developing problem-solving skills within a collaborative team. This internship starts full-time and offers exposure to real projects and benefits programs.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education/program in a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn with growth potential.
• Authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship.

• Perform standard engineering design tasks and update designs.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to assignments.
• Support market-specific project work across Aviation & Federal and Transmission & Distribution.
