Job summary

Core States Group in Richland, WA is seeking an ambitious Civil Engineering Designer to join a collaborative team delivering land development projects from concept to construction. You will apply Civil 3D/AutoCAD, perform calculations, and coordinate with agencies to ensure successful permits.

Qualifications

• Senior, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
• EIT is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes and decision making.
• Ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions to project challenges.
• Prepare construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents.
• Coordinate with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permits.
• Prepare grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research regulatory requirements and design standards.
• Perform detailed calculations for storm water facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and project presentation materials.
• Assist project engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Attend project meetings.

This role is paid on an hourly basis with a range of $33.00 - $44.00 and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The expected approximate annualized compensation range is $70,000 - $90,000.

Work Location

This is an onsite role based out of the following Core States Group offices: Kent, WA; Bellevue, WA; Richland, WA; Roseville, CA; Bentonville, AR; Frisco, TX; or Philadelphia, PA. Only candidates in close proximity to these locations will be considered.
