Job summary

The City of Peoria, AZ is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the Development and Engineering Department. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, at least four years of professional engineering experience, a PE license, and a valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire.

You will liaise with outside agencies, review plans, administer contracts, and coordinate with developers, contractors, and City leadership to develop guidelines, codes, and specifications for projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer License required upon hire or via reciprocity.
Arizona Driver’s License required upon hire.

Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison with outside agencies.
Administer contracts.
Respond to City management and public inquiries and concerns.
Review engineering plans and specifications.
Evaluate and develop solutions for system expansions, new construction, and relocation projects.
Coordinate with developers, contractors, consultants, the public, internal departments, and City leadership.
Develop guidelines, codes, plans, and specifications.
Participate in consultant selection processes.
Coordinate inspections.
Monitor project budgets.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
