Qualifications

• One year of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board.
• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field that includes major coursework in civil engineering.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within ten months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in all rotations across district, field, and maintenance settings.
• Assist with studies, reviews, and inspections to build knowledge of PennDOT operations.
• Observe conditions to support engineering judgments and project recommendations.
• Draft or contribute to reports related to design, geotechnical work, and safety issues.
• Support construction, maintenance, traffic analysis, and materials testing tasks.
