Job summary

The position also reviews security estimates, prepares meeting packages, and coordinates with Planning & Zoning and Capital Construction.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of civil engineering.
• General knowledge of design, construction, inspection, maintenance, and cost estimating for public improvements.
• Ability to prepare technical reports pertaining to engineering projects.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials, consultants, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Reviews subdivision, site plans, and other development review plans and specifications for regulatory compliance.
• Reviews developer security cost estimates for proposed public improvements.
• Provides technical review comments and participates in pre-application meetings with property owners and engineers.
• Interprets design standards and provides technical information to the public and County staff.
• Prepares public meeting packages for boards and committees and presents information publicly.
• Tracks progress regarding rezoning, CUP applications, and proffers administration.
• Inspects development construction and prepares reports on status of completion and remaining work.
• Coordinates with County departments including Planning & Zoning and Capital Construction.
