Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional engineering experience leading public works/design projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and administer departmental budgets and expenditures.
• Enforce permits and ensure contractor compliance with permit conditions.
• Coordinate with public officials and agencies on infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve changes to proposed construction plans to meet codes and standards.
• Oversee projects designed by external engineers/contractors and ensure adherence to plans and permits.
• Develop scope and manage bids/qualification processes for infrastructure projects.
• Oversee design phase of public works projects including drainage, sanitary sewers, roads, bridges, and related infrastructure.
• Supervise staff and provide direction, training, and evaluation.
