Job summary

Pinpoint is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our growing leadership team in Chicago. This role is aimed at a licensed Professional Engineer who has managed transportation infrastructure projects and developed client relationships, contributing to leadership and employee ownership pathways.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related program.
• Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Current Documentation of Quantities Certification is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in highway and roadway projects.
• Building and Roadway Construction Management experience.
• Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, Tollway, and other agencies' systems and operations.
• Strong written and verbal skills, including public speaking.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our growing leadership team. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who has successfully managed transportation infrastructure projects, cultivated client relationships, and is ready to play a meaningful role in the continued expansion of a fast-growing engineering firm. Manage construction management and roadway engineering projects from planning through construction.

Lead project teams to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

Coordinate project activities with clients, stakeholders, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Monitor project performance, financials, schedules, and resource allocation.

Client Relationship Management

Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, counties, municipalities, and other agencies.

Represent Pinpoint at industry events, professional organizations, and client meetings.

Business Development & Growth

Support strategic growth initiatives and market expansion efforts.

Participate in proposal preparation, teaming strategies, interviews, and pursuit planning.

Identify opportunities for new work and help strengthen Pinpoint's presence within the transportation market.

Mentor engineers, inspectors, and project staff.

Support professional development and succession planning initiatives.

Help build a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related program.

Master’s Degree is a plus.

Current Documentation of Quantities Certification is a plus.

10+ years of experience in highway and roadway projects.

Building and Roadway Construction Management experience.

Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, Tollway, and other agencies' systems and operations.

Strong written and verbal skills, including public speaking.

Pay range and compensation packageThe compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, licensure, technical expertise, business development capabilities, and overall alignment with the role.
