Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and plan production for a variety of civil projects in New Jersey.

You will perform quantity calculations, prepare specifications and contract documents, and contribute to complex design decisions as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects. You will supervise a small staff and collaborate with a team of professionals to deliver safe, sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• PE license is required.
• Minimum 3 years of general civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD civil software (Bentley Open Roads Designer / Civil 3D).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Committed to employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan production for civil projects across diverse sites.
• Perform quantity calculations for project estimates.
• Prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Handle complex design tasks with technical judgment.
• Make design decisions for significant procedures as needed.
• Serve as Technical Specialist or PM on mid-size projects; PM not sole focus.
• Supervise a small team of professionals and technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
