Job summary

HDR is seeking a Civil Engineer in Pennington, NJ. In this role you will design and plan production for a wide variety of civil projects, including site layouts, drainage, pavements, utilities, and related civil engineering activities.

You will perform quantity calculations and prepare specifications and contract documents. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and at least 3 years of civil engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 3+ years experience in general civil engineering.
• Proficient with CAD civil engineering software (Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Civil 3D).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities.
• Perform quantity calculations.
• Prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Perform complex assignments with evaluation and modification of standard techniques.
• Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures.
• Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects.
• Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed.
