Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Civil Engineer (Professional Engineer) to join our Alaska offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau.

This hands-on design role focuses on transportation and multi‑discipline projects across Alaska, offering opportunities to grow professionally while delivering practical solutions for public and private clients.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Autodesk AutoCAD & Civil 3D proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.
• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Responsibilities

• The Civil Engineer designs and manages civil projects for Alaska offices.
• Hands-on engineering design role in the Transportation Market Sector across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage contracts on several projects.

The Civil Engineer designs and manages various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Junea Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands‑on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. Preferred

• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.
• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.
• Experience managing design projects.

Compensation

Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe‑benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
