Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Alaska offices (Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau). You will design and manage infrastructure projects for public and private clients, applying your expertise in transportation design and multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, are licensed in Alaska or can obtain within a year, have 5–15 years of experience, and are proficient with

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Autodesk AutoCAD & Civil 3D proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.
• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage projects for public and private sector clients in Alaska.
• Engineering design within RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector across multidisciplinary projects.
• Collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality solutions and meet deadlines.
• Lead project teams and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery.

The Civil Engineer designs and manages various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Junea Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands-on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. Required

Preferred

• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.
• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.
• Experience managing design projects.
