Job summary

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks a Civil Engineer (Professional Engineer) to join our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau, AK offices.

The Civil Engineer designs and manages a variety of projects in our Transportation Market Sector and will include working on multidisciplinary design and construction efforts across Alaska. A strong opportunity to grow professionally within a hands-on team.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5–15 years of experience; 5+ years cold regions experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Word, Excel and Teams.
• Self-motivated, energetic, able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.
• Detail oriented and well organized with ability to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Designs and manages diverse projects for public and private sector clients.
• Hands-on engineering design in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector.
• Grow in profession while gaining experience on multidisciplinary Alaska projects.

The Civil Engineer designs and manages various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Junea Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands-on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. This is a great career opportunity for a dynamic, energetic individual looking to grow in their profession while gaining valuable experience on a wide variety of projects performed across Alaska.

Qualifications

Required

• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.


• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.


• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.


• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.


• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.


• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.


• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Preferred

• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.


• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.

• Salary depends on experience and expertise.
