Job summary

RESPEC, an employee-owned engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Alaska offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau. The role focuses on designing and managing multi-disciplinary transportation projects across Alaska, with opportunities to lead teams, handle contracts, and collaborate with clients and partners.

Candidates should hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, strive for Alaska PE within one year, and bring 5–15 years of experience, including cold regions work.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5–15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Autodesk AutoCAD & Civil 3D proficiency; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage civil projects for public and private clients in Alaska.
• Work on transportation market sector multi-discipline design and construction projects.
• Lead project teams and manage contracts across multiple projects concurrently.
• Meet deadlines with detailed, organized documentation and communication.

RESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting company, seeks aCivil Engineer(Professional Engineer) to join ourFairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Juneau, AK office.

The Civil Engineer designs and manages various types of projects in our Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, and Junea Juneau, Alaska office for public and private sector clients. This is a hands‑on engineering design position in RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector and will include working on variety of multidiscipline design and construction projects. Required

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Alaska Professional Engineering License, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 5 - 15 years of experience; 5+ years of cold regions experience preferred.
• Autodesk AutoCAD & Civil 3D proficiency.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Self‑motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to manage teams and contracts on multiple projects concurrently.
• Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business‑related travel.

Preferred

• Knowledge of Civil3D modeling (corridors, grading, pipe models, etc.), quantities, calculations, and cost estimating is a plus.
• Experience in preparing design drawings and design calculations for utility, site, and roadway improvement projects.
• Experience managing design projects.

Compensation

Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe‑benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
