Job summary

Boston Government Services (BGS) seeks a Civil Engineer to support the Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The role focuses on developing detailed civil design packages, providing procurement and field technical support, and applying engineering practices to a production environment.

The position requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work onsite at Y-12.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interfacing with clients and teams.
• Willingness to work in a production environment and obtain security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Develop high quality detailed design packages for civil projects.
• Provide engineering procurement and field support for implementation.
• Troubleshoot and assess plant facilities using established engineering practices and codes.
• Contribute to storm drainage, road design, soil evaluation, and coordination with external firms.
• Adhere to consensus design codes; CAD drafting experience is preferred but not required.
