Job summary

TEC Civil Engineering Consultants (TEC) is seeking a civil engineer to plan, design, and administer small to medium civil land development projects in the Reno area. The role involves producing planning documents and final construction drawings, coordinating with consultants, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• NV licensed PE or able to obtain license; licenses in other states a plus.
• 3+ years of civil land development experience (commercial and residential) including site layout, grading and erosion control, private and public utility design, storm-water analysis and design, utility coordination and permitting.
• Solid understanding of civil design standards and environmental constraints.
• Experience developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies to obtain permits.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MS Office.
• Hydraulic analysis experience for site development projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, staff and management.
• Adaptability and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer and design civil land development projects.
• Perform civil site design tasks from planning through final construction drawings and coordination with design consultants.
• Establish and maintain client relationships and ensure client objectives are met.
• Oversee reports and studies: storm drainage hydrology & hydraulic reports, sanitary sewer, water distribution reports.
• Engage in professional organizations and contribute to the community.
