Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Engineer III to join our team and lead complex land development projects.

You will apply advanced civil engineering concepts, review plans, coordinate with clients, agencies, and designers, and supervise junior engineers to deliver high-quality design solutions. The position requires a Bachelor's in civil engineering, 5+ years of experience, and PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of hire.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Five or more (5+) years of experience in the land development industry.
• Experience with Civil3D and AutoCAD; knowledge of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and stormwater modeling.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate on multiple projects and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the technical direction over other engineers and provide guidance to staff.
• Assist with marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
• Review zoning regulations and interpret them for land development projects.
• Create initial civil design approaches and develop plans for land/site development.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and sub-consultants on complex project issues.
• Review plans, specifications, and estimates; prepare reports and correspondence.
