Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join our team. This role focuses on evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques on moderately complex land/site development projects, with guidance from senior staff.

You will design and analyze civil systems using Civil3D, AutoCAD, and related software, prepare reports, coordinate with clients and agencies, and contribute to project delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of hire.
• 3+ years in civil/land development; drainage experience preferred.
• EIT or progress toward PE license preferred.
• Proficient in Civil3D, AutoCAD; knowledge of HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and related tools.
• Ability to read construction plans and coordinate with designers.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize initial civil design approaches for land/site development phases.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques on moderately complex projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned work.
• Complete civil engineering work for assigned phases of land/site development.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and design calculations.
• Review plans and provide technical coordination with multiple disciplines.
