Job summary

City of Kinston is hiring a Civil Engineer I-II to design, inspect, and oversee streets, utilities, and storm water projects. You will work under the Engineering Project Manager and may supervise temporary staff.

You will prepare plans in AutoCAD, respond to public and regulatory inquiries, and develop budgets and reports. A Bachelor's in engineering and EIT eligibility are required, with strong communication and Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with minimal experience, or equivalent combo.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Engineer-In-Training certification.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing design of streets, utilities, storm water and City facilities.
• Develops project manuals and in-house plans for projects.
• Responds to engineering questions from the public and regulators; provides information.
