Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited community college with a degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, drafting, design, or related field and some related construction, utilities, or engineering experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and enforce specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect infrastructure construction in progress and upon completion for quality and adherence to plans.
• Review construction plans for proper location of valves, hydrants, and utilities.
• Schedule and conduct preconstruction meetings with contractors, engineers and project managers.
• Record inspection results and maintain detailed project records.
• Perform or oversee field testing and sampling of soils, materials, and water/sewer lines.
• Locate connection points into the system for contractors.
