Job summary

DEFTEC delivers mission-critical solutions through skilled services and products. The Civil Engineer will oversee planning, design, and technical aspects of multi-phase construction and utility projects for real property facilities, including USSF facilities, coordinating with engineers, architects, and contractors to meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities include developing design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, and SOWs; leveraging CADD, GIS, BIM tools; and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's in civil engineering with ≥5 years' experience.
• Strong engineering concepts across disciplines; architectural/mechanical/electrical synergy.
• Knowledge of standards, regulations, health, safety and environmental rules.
• Skilled in budgeting, planning, and financial control systems for projects.
• Proficient in drafting and creating complete project drawings and docs.
• Ability to plan, conduct, and document site surveys and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design for large, multi-phase real property projects and utilities.
• Provide technical input during source selections and evaluate designs and proposals.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and cost estimates using AFCAMP-like tools.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, planners, and external agents (USACE/NAVFAC).
• Collect and analyze data with CADD, GIS, BIM to support data-driven design.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental codes during delivery.
