Job summary
DEFTEC in Colorado Springs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead design for multi-phase new construction and modernization of complex facilities. You will develop calculations, cost estimates, drawings, and SOWs, and coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors on MILCON and O&M projects.
The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong CAD/GIS skills, and a solid grasp of safety and environmental codes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Proficiency with CAD, GIS, and modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of codes, safety and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive planning and design for multi-phase construction and renovation projects; prepare design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, drawings, specifications, and SOWs.
- Manage construction surveillance, contract compliance, change orders, and supplier coordination across MILCON and O&M programs.
- Plan and execute projects using government cost-estimating tools and AFCAMP processes; validate requirements with SMS.
- Serve as technical consultant coordinating with engineers, architects, planners, contracting officers, and external agents.
