Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking experienced Civil Engineers to support design, construction, and maintenance of Navy and Marine Corps facilities, including MILCON projects. You will engage in demolition, space utilization, and development of facilities while delivering independent, timely engineering products and consultations.

You will lead multi‑discipline design efforts, review private A/E designs, and provide post‑award support such as RFIs and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
• US Citizenship aged 18 or older at time of hire.
• Males registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Responsibilities

• Independently create and evaluate engineering designs for site developments, access roads, utility grids, and waterfront structures; prepare blueprints, cost estimates, and construction specifications.
• Provide technical administration and management for multi‑discipline design projects; lead design charrettes, identify risks, ensure budget and schedule.
• Perform quality reviews on designs submitted by private A/E contracting firms; draft statements of work.
• Provide post‑award support, including resolving RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits to address construction challenges.
• Act as the organizational civil engineering expert and mentor junior engineers.

CIVIL ENGINEER

Our Civil Engineers are responsible for providing independent, timely, and professional structural engineering products, services and consultation, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported Commands. You will be working on a variety of special projects and critical military construction (MILCON), and be involved in the demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and development of facilities.

As a Civil Engineer, you will:

• Independently create and evaluate engineering designs for site developments, access roads, utility grids, and waterfront structures. Prepare blueprints, precise cost estimations, and construction specifications.
• Provide technical administration and management for multi‑discipline design projects, leading design charrettes, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Perform rigorous quality reviews on designs submitted by private architectural‑engineering (A/E) contracting firms. Draft statements of work to secure external engineering services.
• Provide expert post‑award support, including resolving complex Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing contractor submittals, and conducting critical site visits to solve real‑time construction challenges.
• Act as the organizational expert in civil engineering, resolving complex design issues and mentoring the next generation of junior engineers.

Highly Desirable Experience:

Registered Professional Engineer and 4‑10 years Civil Engineering Design experience

Key Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance
• A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
• Males registered or exempt from Selective Service www.sss.gov
• Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)

Salary Range: $104,233 – $134,747
