Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, FL office seeks a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This is an on-site role focusing on alignment, drainage, and multimodal roadway design for diverse projects.

You will work under mentorship, gain exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions, and develop skills across design duties while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities

• Horizontal and vertical alignments
• Grading and Drainage design
• Streetscape and roadway improvements
• Multimodal design, including multi-use trails and complete streets
• Signage, striping and signalization plans
• On-the-job and formal training with mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
