Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Doral, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This is not a remote position, and candidates will gain exposure to plan production and client interactions within a collaborative environment.

You will work on a variety of civil engineering tasks including alignments, grading, drainage, and multimodal roadway design, receiving formal mentorship to advance toward professional licensure.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering (B.S. or M.S.)
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities

• Support project managers with a variety of civil engineering tasks
• Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments, grading and drainage design
• Contribute to streetscape and roadway improvements
• Engage in multimodal design including multi-use trails and complete streets
• Prepare signage, striping and signalization plans
• Receive on-the-job and formal training with mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
