Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation in Norwalk, CT seeks an Assistant Project Manager to oversee the total construction effort, ensuring work is safe, on budget, and on schedule. You will interface with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate activities.

Working with the Project Engineer and Superintendent, you will develop schedules, manage cost records, prepare submittals, and maintain project files. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a civil engineering or construction-related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive civil construction experience.
• Experience with budget, schedule, quality control and project phases.
• OSHA 10 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Safety policies and promote safety first on site.
• Review project features with Estimating Department.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule with the Project Engineer and Superintendent.
• Submit preliminary submittals, letters, approvals and cost breakdowns.
• Develop a submittal log, org chart, and material storage plan.
• Initiate startup and closeout sheets and maintain project files.
• Sign off on the budget prior to construction.
• Responsible for all aspects of project cost management.
• Submit quarterly cost revisions and update any cost variances.
• Submit change order logs to the regional office monthly.
• Coordinate and direct all project activities to meet milestones.
• Conduct weekly meetings and review progress with stakeholders.
• Attend final punch list and closeout meetings and finalize documents.
• Maintain contact with the Owner/Architect to secure final payments.
