Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation in Norwalk, CT is seeking an Engineer Intern to assist in daily construction operations, coordination, and administrative tasks supporting project delivery.

You will gain hands-on experience by logging submittals, tracking data, coding materials and labor, coordinating with vendors, and supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent. Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication are essential, and you must be pursuing a Civil Engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering or a related construction field.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Safety policies and procedures and promote Safety first.
• Provide support to the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Superintendent.
• Receive, log, and file project correspondence and shop drawings.
• Record daily project work quantities in control documents.
• Assist with material deliveries and lead coding of materials, labor, and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors regarding schedules, billing, and back charges.
• Draft routine correspondence as requested by the Project Manager.
• Review and code delivery slips and purchase orders; support project cost management.
