Motorola Solutions in Chicago is hiring a Civil Construction Manager to own the end-to-end civil construction lifecycle for regional projects, coordinating with Systems Engineering, Project Managers, and subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget site development and compliance. The role emphasizes strategic regional alignment, risk mitigation, and leveraging vendor partnerships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher in business, engineering, IT, public safety, or technology.
• 3–5 years of Construction/Project Management experience.
• OSHA Certification required.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction: Site appraisals and strategy to evaluate access and constraints.
• Design & feasibility consultation: Review site drawings and advise on construction feasibility and material availability.
• Regulatory & compliance tracking: Monitor zoning, SHPO, NEPA, Phase I env., and permits with a tracking system.
• Subcontractor pre-qualification and site mobilization planning.
• Develop and submit Construction Execution Plans; lead multi-disciplinary reviews.
• Construction oversight: collaborate with A&E firms on site plans and specs.
• Subcontractor & safety management: ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
• Progress & cost control: track progress against budget and provide weekly updates.
• Site acceptance & integration: coordinate testing, inspections, and utility turn-ups.
• Closeout & hand-off: resolve punch-list items and deliver final hand-off to customer.
