Job summary

DOWL is seeking an Intern to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection team in Reno, NV for Summer 2027. You will assist engineers, conduct site visits, and help document existing conditions at project sites while supporting inspections of civil infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, collaboration with owners, engineers, and contractors, and exposure to a range of infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in civil, environmental, or construction engineering tech.
• Two years of college coursework preferred; minimum required stated in posting.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Establish and document existing conditions at project sites through research and site visits
• Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering construction projects
• Conduct site visits to construction projects to monitor quality and progress of the work
• Perform construction inspection of transportation and heavy civil projects
• Assist in the in-service inspection of structures including bridges, walls, culverts, and tanks
