Job summary

New York City Department of Education seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator to lead direct outreach to families for NYCPS admissions, enrollment, and related initiatives. The role involves coordinating with Borough Outreach Managers, organizing events, and leveraging interagency partnerships to recruit and enroll students citywide.

Responsibilities include regional trainings, data reporting, and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities; or
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of related experience; or
• Equivalent combination of education/experience with at least one year of the first option.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with families, schools and community-based organizations about NYCPS admissions, enrollment processes, and deadlines.
• Organizes and hosts events in partnership with community stakeholders to disseminate admissions information.
• Supports outreach events, workshops, enrollment fairs, and information sessions across NYC.
• Builds relationships with Borough Outreach managers to improve engagement with families and students.
