Job summary

The City of Hawthorne seeks an Information Technology Support Technician to provide technical support, installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of IT systems across city departments and client agencies.

Under supervision, you will support end users, endpoint devices, servers, networking, and related software/hardware. May require after-hours response and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Information Systems or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of technical PC support experience including setup/OS install and network config.
• California class “C” driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support and maintenance for city departments and agencies.
• Troubleshoot desktop/laptop, mobile device, IP phone, AV, networking, and app issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain endpoint devices and Windows OS within a domain.
• Handle user accounts, provisioning/deprovisioning, and basic backup tasks.
• Maintain tickets, document steps, and manage inventory of hardware/software.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours and may work shifts.
